About VERITATEM
Who we are, how we work, who owns us, and how we stay independent.
VERITATEM is a fact-based media imprint: sourced reporting, interactive explainers, and demographic maps, published in the public interest. Our standard is simple — every claim of fact is sourced, primary sources are preferred, and every material error is corrected on the record.
Masthead
The masthead — our editorial roster and how to reach editors — is maintained in
data/site-config.yaml and rendered on this page as the outlet staffs up.
Editorial decisions rest with the masthead, not with our owner or any affiliated
business.
Editorial independence
VERITATEM is an imprint of Amici IP Holdings LLC (d/b/a Amici Rights Consortium). Our owner holds the VERITATEM brand and licenses it to the imprint. That ownership confers brand and licensing authority — not editorial control.
Concretely:
- No one outside the newsroom directs coverage. Not our owner, not AMIKIND (a separate research-and-development firm under the same parent), not any sibling imprint or business. No party may direct, veto, pre-approve, or condition what we publish.
- We disclose conflicts. When we report on a topic in which our owner or an affiliated business has a material interest, we say so in the piece. Where a conflict would be disqualifying, we do not run the piece under the VERITATEM mark.
- Arm’s-length transactions only. The relationship between VERITATEM and its owner is governed by a documented license on arm’s-length terms, with funds and records kept separate. We do not trade coverage for any benefit to an affiliated business.
This is a public summary of our full editorial-independence policy, which is maintained as a governance document and reviewed at least annually.
Funding & ownership
- Owner / publisher: Amici IP Holdings LLC, d/b/a Amici Rights Consortium.
- How we’re funded: funding sources are disclosed here as they are established. Any sponsorship, grant, or underwriting that supports specific coverage is disclosed on the relevant pages, and funders receive no editorial control.
Sourcing & corrections
We prefer primary sources and link them wherever possible. Data pages and maps cite their provenance, vintage, and method. We keep a standing corrections record; material errors are fixed promptly and the change is noted on the affected piece.
