New research and primary-source records, each admitted only on an identifier that resolves — a DOI, a preprint id, or the institution that produced the work.

The World Feed asks how many independent newsrooms carried a story. That question gives the wrong answer about research.

A discovery reaches the public as one paper and one press release. The outlets that rewrite that release are not independent confirmations of it — they are copies of a single source. Counting them would score a thin press release as strongly corroborated and leave a serious paper covered by one specialist outlet looking like nothing at all.

So this page counts nothing. It admits an item only when the item is a primary source, and only when its identifier resolves: a DOI, an arXiv id, or an institution reporting its own instruments and data. Science journalism, however good, is not carried here — the method explains why, and what we measured before deciding it.
