A demonstration demographic map, rendered from an auditable GeoJSON dataset that ships with the site.

This is a demonstration of the map format. Each demographic map on VERITATEM is rendered client-side from a GeoJSON file that lives in the site’s own data/ folder — so the dataset is downloadable and auditable, not a black box.

The color ramp encodes each feature’s value property (0–1). Real maps replace this sample with a cited dataset and a documented method. Hover a region to see its value.

How to read a VERITATEM map

  • Provenance and vintage appear in the caption of every map.
  • The Download data link in the caption gives you the exact GeoJSON we rendered — nothing hidden.
  • Interactive maps require JavaScript; when it’s off, the linked dataset is still available.
